Dubai, October 5th 2008 : The School of Business Administration (SBA) at the American
University in Dubai (AUD) has recently announced the introduction of its inaugural Teaching Assistantship (TA)
Program for the Spring 2009 semester.
These competitive positions are open to current and new full-time MBA students (students enrolling in at least 6 credit
hours). The SBA will offer six TA positions and MBA students selected for these assistantships will receive
full tuition support during the period of their assignment (initially one semester). In addition to tuition
support, TAs will acquire invaluable classroom experience and management skills, serve as
mentors to undergraduate students, and will work closely with the SBA’s faculty members.

“The newly implemented School of Business Administration Teaching Assistantships are a first for AUD. They are designed to
enhance the exchange of information, both academic and professional, between faculty members and MBA students. Selected students
will benefit immensely from this program. In addition to the generous tuition support, serving as a Teaching Assistant
reinforces the MBA student’s knowledge of topics such as accounting, economics, finance and marketing”, comments
Dr. Dwayne Banks, Dean of the School of Business Administration at AUD. “This program clearly demonstrates
AUD’s continuous commitment to academic excellence, and the School of Business Administration’s emphasis on providing students
with a well-rounded, student-focused, business education”.
TAs will be required to be present on campus during the day and in their designated workspace for 20 hours per week
(the equivalent of a part-time workload). TAs will report directly to the Chairs of the designated departments within the
SBA.
