The American University in Dubai invites qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant.
Principle responsibilities:
General secretarial duties
Handling of incoming and outgoing mail
Administer and maintain log for Classroom Equipment (TV,VCR,O/H projector etc)
Maintain mailboxes and lockers
Order office supplies
Maintain faculty/employee attendance log, on a daily basis / prepare monthly report
Maintain a filing system for departmental use
Assist with planning and arrangements for conferences, seminars and other similar events hosted
by the departmental use
Provide support for new faculty
Maintain the meeting schedules of Academic Council and the other committees to which faculty
may belong
Take minutes at department meetings
Proctoring entrance examinations
Data entry
Reception
Other related duties as assigned
Competencies and Skills utilized:
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English/Arabic an advantage
Office administration experience
Ability to work under pressure
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize and deal with several issues simultaneously
Computer proficiency including MS programs
