Admissions Coordinator

 

The Office of Admissions of American University in Dubai would like to invite applicants for the position of Admissions Coordinator.

Principle responsibilities:

  • Daily student interviews/appointments
  • Follow-up on student enquiry’s, by email, telephone, fax, mail
  • Providing continuous improvement of the admissions process
  • Overseeing and interpretation of entrance exam results
  • Overseeing and facilitating the admissions process for each applicant
  • Remaining current with trends in technology, including client server based computing
  • Involve other counselors as necessary in the admissions process
  • Support and implement corporate initiatives and maintain standards
  • Remaining current with trends in technology, including client server based computing
  • Professionally sell strong students and “screen-out” weak applicants per AUD standards
  • Representation of AUD at various speaking/networking events
  • Updating the website information as requested by Department
  • Arranging and setting up Accuplacer exams & Paper Based TOEFL as requested by Department
  • Responsible for the Q-matic system as requested by Department
  • Visa Process as requested by Department
  • Evaluation of courses for transfer students
  • Some traveling for recruitment may be required

  • Comprehensive understanding of all AUD programs
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of the educational environment and how training and education is related to the job market
  • Sound experience and understanding of sales practices and marketing/promotional tools and techniques
  • Strong personal skills as a user of technology
  • Effective time management skills
  • Accountability for bottom-line impact

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Customer focused, goal oriented action
  • Consultative approach with excellent listening skills
  • Team player
  • Strong professional references

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous sales/recruitment experience of an educational or IT environment
  • Master’s degree
