Career Services Coordinator

 

The Student Services Department of the American University in Dubai would like to invite applications for the position of Career Services Coordinator.

Principle responsibilities:

  • Perform on-going employment market analyses to determine and anticipate areas of growth and potential and to define employer expectations
  • Aid in the assessment of student aptitudes and interests (professional)
  • Assist students in the formulation of realistic education and career goals
  • Guide students in the transfer process (undergraduate) and the application to / selection of graduate schools
  • Create career portfolios to be used in student counseling
  • Liaise with prospective recruiters in order to determine needs and expectations and to maintain an on-going listing (database) of availabilities in terms of internships / part-time / career employment
  • Stimulate student – employer contact through the organization of career fairs or other appropriate events / mechanisms
  • Plan and implement workshops designed to enhance student skill in conducting job searches, writing resumes, and interviewing techniques
  • Coordinate with instructors of UNV 401 to offer suggestions for topics
  • Maintain Career Services division of University webpage
  • Post job announcements in weekly AUD Electronic Newsletter
  • Maintain membership in appropriate professional association
  • Prepare divisional reports as needed
  • Other related duties as assigned

Essential Qualifications:

  • Computer proficiency
  • Bachelors degree or above from a Western accredited institution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in administration, and real hands-on experience
  • Masters degree from a Western accredited institution
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and effectively use statistical data
