Professor Buigut has worked at Egerton University , Njoro , Kenya , where he taught a wide variety of courses including Macroeconomics, Project Analysis, and Rural Development. He also taught Money and Credit and Global Finance at Georgia State University , prior to arriving at the AUD. His research interests include Monetary Economics and International Finance. Professor Buigut has special interest in the monetary integration efforts in developing and emerging economies.
Professor Buigut's recent research has examined the feasibility of monetary union in several sub-regions in Africa . He has published papers in several journals including the Review of Development Economics, World Development and International Finance and has reviewed papers for the World Development. He has also consulted for the Kenya Institute of Public Policy Research (KIPPRA), and is currently revising the KIPPRA monetary sector KTMM macro-model. He is a member of the Royal Economic Society. |
