Newly accepted students receive advising and complete their first term registration at AUD with an Admissions Representative.
During subsequent semesters (up to the completion of 45 credit hours or 60 credit hours for Visual Communication), students receive academic advice at the Academic Advising Center (AAC). While Engineering and IT students are advised at the AAC until graduation, all other students are assigned to faculty advisors in their fields of study. Once a student has completed 45 credit hours, an advisor's approval of course selection is no longer required.
To ensure a smooth degree progression, students are encouraged to maintain close contact with their advisors during their time at AUD. Advisors provide them with information and guidance pertaining to academic policies and concerns, internships, specific course related issues and professional development.
Nonetheless, students are expected to assume the full responsibility for degree planning and course selection since the ultimate responsibility for fulfilling degree requirements rests squarely with the student.
They are required to become intimately familiar with their own program requirements as well as the necessary requisite coursework and sequencing. |
