Student Activities : AUD Clubs and Organizations
The American University in Dubai firmly believes in the education and development of the whole person. At AUD we consider extracurricular activities, events and out of classroom learning experiences vital in developing a student's social skills, leadership abilities and character. They also provide a great opportunity to bridge cultures, make lifelong friends and explore new interests!
All AUD clubs are open to every member of the community and include:

Special Interest Clubs
The Special Interest Clubs of AUD include everyone from the adventure enthusiasts to the civic minded student. These clubs provide a variety of outlets for students to explore their interests, get involved in their community, make a difference in the world, as well as have a little fun along the way.

Current Special Interest Clubs include:
Al Qalam LogoAl Qalam
This club is for those who hold a deep love and appreciation for the Arabic language. The club is open to everyone with all levels of writing skills. It is the appreciation that is key. The club hosts educational events such as monthly book groups, writing competitions, guest lecturers etc.
AIA LogoAUD International Aid
The AIA Club reaches out to others and encourages community service. Club members work with and for various charities based internationally and in the UAE. Activities include fund raising and raising awareness about various projects, countries, and communities in order to assist those in need.
AUD Model United Nations
MUN engages students in active debate through competitive mock United Nations conferences. Members gain experience in foreign policy, writing resolutions, structured debate and international relations. MUN is a must for any student who wishes to choose a career in foreign relations and international diplomacy or who just wishes to understand the intricacies of debate and the complexities of the U.N.
The Buzz LogoThe Buzz
The Buzz is a student run event management club that organizes special events throughout the semester. It is also a resource for other registered AUD clubs that need help with planning and organizing their own events on campus.
Chess Club
The Chess Club was formed by the chess enthusiasts to gather regularly to play and master the noble game of chess.
Cinematopia LogoCinematopia
The club is organized by the students of Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Communications (MBRSC). Films are shown weekly and discussions are held at the conclusion of the film by students and faculty. In addition, students produce film projects together.
Conversation Club
The club officers a unique opportunity for students to practice and develop their spoken English skills at any level and discuss a topic of interest. This club is especially helpful to students enrolled in the Intensive English Language Program at AUD.
Islamic Club LogoIslamic Club
The Islamic Awareness Club aims to increase awareness about Islam and Islamic culture on-campus. The Clubs hosts educational lectures open to anyone interested in learning more about Islam. Daily congregational prayers at “Zuhur” are held in AUD’s prayer rooms.
The Other Angle LogoThe Other Angle
The Other Angle Club is a Visual Communication club that promotes the work of students. The club also organizes exhibitions and field trips.
Cultural Clubs
The AUD community is incredibly diverse. With over 80 nationalities represented on campus, the Cultural Clubs of AUD play a unique role in fostering tolerance, understanding and appreciation within the university community. Cultural Clubs celebrate the traditions, history and heritage of the various racial and ethnic groups at AUD through activities such as lectures, exhibitions, poetry sessions, fashion shows and song and dance performances.

Departmental Clubs
AUD Departmental Clubs serve as professional organizations that address the special needs and interests of students in specific areas of study. They encourage members to explore their interests and talents and organize major specific activities such as lectures, seminars, professor's lunches, competitions, exhibitions, workshops and field trips. The clubs also serve as a liaison between the student body and faculty of each department.

The Voice is an avenue for AUD students to showcase their vocal talents, record music and hold concerts to share their achievements. The club also acts as a social facilitator that brings together people with a flair for music every week.
