AUD understands that a common core initiative strengthens the university experience for all students. The mission of AUD's First Year Experience Program (Bedayeh) is to assist new students in their successful assimilation to AUD. The program offers a variety of common activities, events, and opportunities designed to enhance and support personal, cultural, social and intellectual development. The Bedayeh Program, available exclusively to first year students, is a deliberate attempt by AUD to welcome, support and encourage students as they begin their university life.
University 101 (The University Experience)
A core course required for all freshmen students, the course instructs students in basic academic skills and helps tem strengthen their academic preparedness for university. Personal action plans are a key component of the program. Volunteer service integrated into the course provides students with opportunity to apply communication and administrative skills; enables them to use analytical and problem-solving skills; and on a higher level, services to heighten students' awareness of the need to serve society.
IAUD Passport Program
This program is designed to increase student involvement in the University. All first year students are provided with an AUD passport. By participating in a variety of events and taking advantage of the various services that AUD offers, first year students are able to obtain various stamps on their AUD passport. First year students who obtain all stamps receive University recognition and are eligible to participate in the annual drawing for various University rewards.

A specialized booklet for all new freshmen students designed to acquaint them with important information about AUD
Freshmen Dinner Series
Freshmen students have dinner and interact with faculty, administrators and staff members in an informal setting
Fall Orientation Mid-Semester Meeting
A chance for freshmen students to reconnect with their Orientation Leader and discuss their initial impressions of AUD. Students can seek answers to questions and concerns that may arise during their first semester at AUD.
Freshmen Support Group
Managed by the Student Support Manager, AUD Counselor, and Health Center Director, this groups is designed to support freshmen students during their transition to AUD.
Lifelines
Lifelines is designed to assist new students with formulating a university success plan. AUD's Student Support Manager and Dean of Student Services provide coaching to Freshmen early in their career to offer assistance and support for all new freshmen students. |
