WATER AND ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY LABORATORY
The Water and Environmental Technology Laboratory (WET-Lab) lab is designed to provide students with practical applications in both environmental Engineering and water resources Engineering.  The lab houses equipment for the study of water and waste water treatment. These include an aerobic digester unit for the demonstration of the aerobic digestion process of water through constant aeration, an anaerobic digester unit for the demonstration of the anaerobic digestion process where the breakdown of organic materials present in waste water occurs in an environment with no oxygen. The lab is also equipped with a deep filter unit that allows elimination of particles in suspension by filtering it through a sand column, a filterability index unit, a sedimentation tank, and an ion exchange unit.

The Water and Environmental Technology Laboratory (WET-Lab) was developed through an equipment grant by the Emirates Foundation for Philanthropy – Lab Improvement Program.  Live demos and tours of the AUD WET-Lab are available for high school students.  Interested parties should contact the School of Engineering for a tour.
