Diplomatic Speaker Series
AUD School of Arts and Sciences reaches out to diplomats
The Department of International and Middle Eastern studies at the School of Arts and Sciences at AUD has launched a Diplomatic Speaker Series, inviting diplomats from around the world to speak to students, allowing them to engage and learn from experts.
In our increasingly interconnected world, there exists a growing need to better understand the politics, economics, and cultures that make up the global community,” comments Dr. Elham Seyedsayamdost, Chair of the Department and Assistant Professor of International Studies.  In this regard, the Department offers a rigorous Bachelor’s program, led by accomplished faculty possessing unparalleled interdisciplinary expertise and experience in Academe, government, and international organizations.
“As the primary goal of this degree is the development of students as leaders in a globalized world, what better way to develop and maintain their competitive advantage in the emerging employment market than by inviting diplomats to speak to them about current affairs and share their experience?” adds Dr. Seyedsayamdost.
The first Diplomatic Speaker Series events will see Deputy Consul General of Peru H.E. Mr. Sergio Nostas speak about “Peru: Regional Engagement in Latin America”, and Public Affairs Officer of US General Consulate Ms. Christine Dal Bello discuss her experience as a US diplomat.
