High-tech and High Evolution Bio-structures, with a pencil and a sheet.

     This seminar will address the pencil-and-sheet contributions to the EU-granted project of Prof. Eng. Valeriu Beiu, Novel Bio-inspired Cellular Nano-Architectures – For Digital Integrated Circuits (BioCell-NanoART, 2016-2020).  Prof. Beiu and his team are interested in modeling the reliability of the axons in the brain. Their findings may inspire better designs of electrical circuits at the nanoscale. In this talk, Dr. Poulin will define the notion of reliability of a random graph, model the axons as a 2-dimensional regular graph (so-called hammock), and present the algorithms that he suggests for computing their reliability. He will then present open questions.
