Counseling and Guiding SEN Students Workshop
School counselors from the region came together to discuss guiding Special Education Needs students.
The Admissions Office at AUD organized its 6th annual Guidance Counselors’ Workshop, themed “Counseling and Guiding SEN (Special Education Needs) Students. The event took place on Wednesday February 28th, 2018 on the AUD campus bringing together 56 guidance counselors from leading schools in the UAE, Cairo, Bahrain, Oman, KSA and Jordan.
The workshop was divided into 2 sessions. The first session was in the form of an interactive panel discussion which was facilitated by Dr. Jigar Jogia, Associate Professor of Psychology at the American University in Dubai. The discussion focused on providing Career Education for students with Special Needs, and counseling techniques for those working with these students, including tips on how to help them navigate a route to career success. 
The second session included testimonials from three AUD students with mental and physical health challenges which was facilitated by Mr. Raj Kapoor, Assistant and Associate Professor of Business Administration at the American University in Dubai.
