The American University in Dubai hosts its in-house Chess Tournament
11/04/2018
Over the last two months, 34 AUD students participated in a chess tournament that aimed to engage students’ multilateral thinking and analytical skills. Andrew Giirgis, a final year student from school of Business Administration won first place in the competition. Second place was awarded to Mansour Mbengue, a student from school of Business Administration. Both students were congratulated by the Circulation Supervisor, Jana Bou Karroum and awarded certificates and prizes by the Library Director, Elizabeth Thompson.

The finals of the tournament was welcomed by students, faculty and staff. Ms. Karroum thanked everyone for their participation and highlighted that while much fun was had, the tournament allowed students to develop new skills and an appreciation for the game of chess. The library will continue to support chess games and will aim to offer the tournament annually to all AUD students.
