BAIS Majors Invited to Present Research in Istanbul This Summer
09/05/2018
Two BAIS graduating students have been invited to present their research at Istanbul Sehir University's Global History Student Conference in Turkey this summer. Ms. Leen Eissa will introduce her paper "Chilean-Palestinians & Chilean-Jews: An Exported Conflict," which explores the effects of the Arab-Israeli Conflict in southern South America. Ms. Sofia Maria Searty will present "The Maasai confrontation with HIV/AIDS: Cultural Atrophy & Medical Neo-Imperialism," relating to public health in Kenya. Both papers were selected from a highly competitive group of submissions from around the world. The conference brings together leading graduate and undergraduate students from more than 80 nations to explore new horizons in global, transnational, and connected histories.

Ms. Eissa and Ms. Searty will graduate with BAIS degrees, both specializing in International Relations, later this month.
