AUD Alumna awarded Young Interior Designer of the Year 2018

AUD Interior Design Alumna Rasha El-Tekreeti has been awarded Young Interior Designer of the Year 2018 at the prestigious event CID Commercial Interior Design Awards 2018 sponsored by Commercial Interior Design magazine – DesignMENA.
 
Rasha graduated in 2015 with her BFA in Interior Design.
 
She has been working for MMAC Design as an Interior Designer for the past three years where she collaborated with many major Hospitality operators such as Marriott, Accor, Rotana. https://www.rashaaltekreeti.com/
 
Rasha won the Award out of eight finalists of the same category, for a total of 420 submissions across 18 categories from 114 companies throughout the region.
 
' Success never comes in a day! This is the first step and the journey is yet to begin…thanks to AUD for teaching me, thanks to the Interior Design professors who believed in me and kept supporting me even after graduating, thanks to my lovely family and friends, and of course, special thanks to my supportive team at MMAC Design Associate for encouraging me' - Rasha El-Tekreeti.

The Commercial Interior Design Awards is one of the most prestigious Awards of the region focusing on Interior Design; the event pays tribute to the projects, interior design firms and designers making their mark on the region’s interior design industry.

The awards herald work that displays original thinking, creative breadth and a willingness to stray from tried and tested formulas.

Two brilliant AUD Alumnae have been also shortlisted as finalists for the same category CID Awards 2018, Young Interior Designer of the Year:
  • Reem Moussali, Interior Designer and founder of Dress the Space. Reem graduated at AUD in 2013 with a magna cum laude in Interior Design. She worked on many high-end F&B and residential projects. 
  • Natasha Ahmed, Senior Interior Designer Lulie Fisher Design Studio. Natasha graduated in Interior Design at AUD in 2012 and worked with prestigious Design firm such as Stickman Tribe, Aedas, before joining Lulie Fisher Design Studio in 2017. She worked on high- profile projects such for Hospitality clients such as Kempinski, Accord, Jumeirah, Radisson Blue and also Abu Dhabi Tourism and Cultural Authority.
