AUD offers two scholarships to the winners of the Press Report Competition

The American University in Dubai organized an Award Ceremony for the winners of the AUD Press Report Competition. The competition, both in English and Arabic, was aimed at high school students in public and private schools, under the title "UAE is the most beautiful winter in the world".

For the seventh consecutive year, AUD offered a scholarship to the first-place winner. This year, two scholarships were awarded, one to the first winner in Arabic and one to the first winner in the English.

Hamdan Aref Ahli from Dubai National School won first place for his report in Arabic, titled, Sir Bani Yas Island, and Faghra Sarfraz Ahmed ,from Al-Amal English High School – Sharjah also won first place for her report in English, titled Al Rafisah Dam.

Dr. David A. Schmidt, President of AUD, congratulated the winners and thanked His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who provided inspiration for the theme of this year's competition, “The Emirates .. the most beautiful winter in the world.” Dr. Schmidt also pointed out that the number of participating students this year has increased to 129 students from 23 schools around the UAE.

The schools with the most entries in the competition were honored, in addition to the teachers who supervised the winning students.

The schools with the highest number of participants which were, Dubai National School - Al Twar Branch, Al Ittihad Private School - Jumeirah, and Al Ahlia Charity School - Dubai.

Appreciation prizes were also distributed to all the winners:

English language: Fifth place - Mira Ali Al Alili, Dubai National School on her report on Ain Dubai; Fourth place - Lynn Oweidat, Al Mawakeb School - Al Garhoud Al Qreer on her report on the Dubai Frame; Third place - Noor Osama, Dubai National School - Al Tawar on her report on Global Village; Second place - Saif Abu Obaid, School of Choueifat, Abu Dhabi on her report on the Falcons Hospital in Abu Dhabi.

Arabic Language: Seventh place - Nada Bastaki, Al Ittihad Private School - Jumeirah, for her report on the Bastakiya area in Dubai; Sixth place - Dina Wadih, Al-Hikma Private School, Ajman on her report on Al-Hili Archaeological Park; Fifth place - Sophia Kabbani, Al-Ittihad Private School, Jumeirah for her report on Jebel Jais; Fourth place - Nada Tharwat, Al-Ahlia Charity School , Al-Qadisiyah - Sharjah for her report on Al-Hira Beach; Third place- Khaled Walid Shalabi, Al-Ahlia Charity School in Dubai for his report on Hatta - Beautiful Nature; Second place- Omar Bilal Safarini, Dubai National School - Al-Tawar branch on his report on Qasr Al-Hosn.
