Professor Kristin Lee joined AUD in January 2013. Prior to that, she has worked in commercial interior design on two continents with a special focus on healthcare and senior living design. She holds an NCIDQ license from the USA.
Working for a large healthcare design firm in Boston, MA, Ms. Lee worked on projects ranging from large scale retirement communities to small office renovations to medical projects of varying sizes and degrees of complexity. Her Master’s thesis focused on creating an age-in-place community; healthcare design remains a specialty that is important to her, as space impacts those who inhabit it and that is especially critical for the elderly and unwell.
Locally, Ms. Lee worked on residential and small healthcare projects for design firms and developers. Kristin is an active participant in the regional design community, participating in conferences and acting as a jury member for competitions.
Teaching was not a career Ms. Lee planned on, yet she finds it more rewarding than she could have imagined. Connecting with students and creating a dialog about how human’s experience of space occurs and how that experience can be enhanced and influenced makes every day rewarding.
