Prior to starting at AUD in 2016, Dr. Brennan spent five years working at Mardin University in the south-east of Turkey.
His main areas of interest are Greek historiography, minor Anatolian civilizations, and identity formation in ancient and modern contexts. As a historian he believes strongly that an informed view of the past is vital to understanding today's complex societies.
He is currently completing a monograph on Xenophon the Athenian and co-editing a Landmark Ancient History edition of his Anabasis.
