Dr. Faisal Rana holds a PhD in economics from Massey University in New Zealand. Before moving to AUD in Fall 2018, he taught postgraduate and undergraduate courses in economics and finance in New Zealand, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. He also worked as deputy director in the central bank of Pakistan prior to joining academia.
His primary research interests are in the field of international finance and open economy macroeconomics. His work has been published in high quality journals such as Journal of Banking & Finance, Journal of International Money & Finance, Accounting & Finance, Journal of Management in Engineering, and Contemporary Economic Policy. He has also presented his research at some leading international conferences, including European Financial Management Association (EFMA) meetings, Australasian Finance and Banking Conference (AFBC) and New Zealand Association of Economists (NZAE) meetings.
Dr. Faisal is the recipient of several awards, including teaching excellence award (Effat University), best paper award (World Business Research Conference), scientific publications’ award (Bursa Orhangazi University) and best paper award (Massey University).
