Visiting Student Applications

Visiting student status allows students who are actively pursuing a degree at another college or university to take courses at The American University in Dubai and transfer credits back to their home institution.

UNDEGRADUATE VISITING STUDENTS
Prospective undergraduate visiting students must meet the following minimum admission requirements:

  • Be in good academic standing. (A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or the equivalent)
  • Demonstrate English language proficiency. *
    TOEFL® iBT 68-78 or above
    IELTS™ 6.0 or above

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Undergraduate Visiting/Study Abroad students joining AUD with the intention of transferring credits back to their home institution, must submit the following documents to apply.

  1. Submit Visiting Student Application online. (A non-refundable Application Fee of AED420/US$115 payable as part of the online application process).**
  2. Upload your Passport Photocopy with validity page and Proof of English Language Proficiency (if required) when submitting your online application.
  3. Provide Official College Transcript (sealed or sent directly from your institution’s Registrar).
  4. Complete the Visiting Student Course Selection Form.
  5. Complete Health History Form. This form must be signed and stamped by a physician.
  6. A non-refundable Reservation Deposit of AED5,000/US$1,370, which is fully applied toward tuition, is also required upon acceptance for admission.**

* Proof of English proficiency is required for students from institutions where the language of instruction is not English. An alternative English certificate may be accepted for some partner institutions.
** Exchange program participants from AUD’s Official partner institutions are exempt from Application Fee and Reservation Deposit.

GRADUATE VISITING STUDENTS
Prospective graduate visiting students must meet the following minimum admission requirements in order to take course(s) in an AUD graduate program:

  • Must have earned the equivalent of a Bachelor’s (undergraduate) degree before starting the application as a Graduate Visiting Student at AUD.
  • Be in good academic standing and actively pursuing a graduate degree at another college or university.
  • Demonstrate English language proficiency. *
    TOEFL® iBT 68 or above
    IELTS™ 6.0 or above
  • Graduate programs may have additional program admission requirements.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Graduate Visiting/Study Abroad students joining AUD with the intention of transferring credits back to their home institution must submit the following documents to apply.

  4. Copy of Undergraduate Diploma.
  5. Complete the Visiting Student Course Selection Form.
  6. Complete Health History Form. This form must be signed and stamped by a physician.
  7. A non-refundable Reservation Deposit of AED 2,000/US$548, which is fully applied toward tuition, is also required upon acceptance for admission.**

* Proof of English proficient is required for students from institutions where the language of instruction is not English. An alternative English certificate may be accepted for some partner institutions.
** Exchange program participants from AUD’s Official partner institutions are exempt from Application Fee and Reservation Deposit.
