The American University in Dubai signed a cooperative agreement with PepsiCo to prepare awareness campaigns for students on the importance of waste recycling and its role in supporting the economy. The need to be in harmony with the environment and nature is essential because waste negatively impacts the environment and contributes to an increase in greenhouse gases.

The campaign will introduce sustainability into specific AUD courses, encourage collection and recycling, raise awareness on how to transition to a circular economy, and encourage students to work on content that spreads awareness of the importance of sustainability.

A dialogue session was held at on campus and was attended by students from the School of Business Administration and the Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication.

Dr. Mahmoud Al-Rai, Senior Consultant of the Real Estate Regulatory Department in Dubai; Mr. Wael Ismail, PepsiCo Vice President for Corporate Affairs; and Mrs. Hind Al-Huwaidi, General Manager of Bee’ah, were all speakers at the event, which was moderated by Dr. Micah Robbins, Acting Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences.
