Three AUD Interior Design students won internships at prestigious Interior Design Firms in Dubai, as part of the INDEX DESIGN CHALLENGE 2023, in the Index Exhibition 2023 in Dubai.
The Competition included all universities in the UAE and the topic of the competition was to design a bathroom for a famous client, including wet and dry areas. The esteemed jury was composed of major players in the market, offering internships to the winners: Bishop Design, Roar, Kristina Zanic Consultants, Woods Bagot, Dewan Architects + Engineers, 4space Design, Brand Creative, dwp.
The AUD winners included:
Thasneem Abuthahir, project Cosmosis, reference client: Stephen Hawking. Winner of an internship at Woods Bagot.
"With all his needs being kept in mind, designing a bathroom for people with physical needs is very important in the field of design and art."
Haydi Ismail, project with reference client: Alfred Hitchcock. Winner of an internship at Bishop Design.

Naseehath Valappil, project with reference client: Yayoi Kusama. Winner of an internship at Bishop Design.

The challenge was developed by IDES472 and as extra-curriculum activity, with mentorship and supervision of Professor Lambri, AUD Associate Professor & Outreach Coordinator Interior Design.
