Dr. Georges Kachaamy, Director of the CRID at the American University in Dubai gave a talk at the Museum of the Future on September 25, 2024. His session, focused on "Future Learning," explored the transformative role of emerging technologies in architecture and design education, aligning with AUD's commitment to innovation in these fields. Dr. Kachaamy showcased how AUD students are using emerging technologies such as Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence at the Center for Research, Innovation, and Design (CRID) in order to augment their skillset and create virtual environments and designs. In two of his courses, DDFT 373 and DDFT 473, students were provided with design briefs related to a competition that dealt with designing the future flying vehicle and the gamification of architectural spaces, respectively. In addition, the presentation explored the impact of collaborations with the industry and governmental entities, which led to students from across multiple courses designing the first public art exhibition using AI in Dubai.

Dr. Kachaamy’s talk is part of the Future Experts Professor's Edition at the Museum, where academics are given a platform to connect with industry-focused educators, exchange ideas, and contribute to the knowledge that will drive a smarter, more innovative future.
