Visual Communication student, Chloe Salloum, was busy representing AUD and the UAE at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity. Chloé was shortlisted by the festival’s representatives here in the UAE, Motivate Val Morgan, and then selected by the Cannes Lions team in France, after going through a rigorous process of interviews and competing alongside students from other universities across the UAE.
AUD’s Visual Communication students have been consistently representing the UAE for eight years at this prestigious festival. Chloé was selected to join top students from different countries to form the Roger Hatchuel Academy. This gave Chloé the exclusive opportunity to network and learn from award-winning leaders in advertising and various creative industries around the world.
Chloe made this statement to Motivate Val Morgan:
“Representing the UAE at the Cannes Lions Roger Hatchuel Academy was a remarkable experience that exceeded all my expectations. The week-long program has completely transformed my life and mindset, pushing me to embrace heightened creativity and purpose in my work.
Beyond the educational aspect, I had the privilege of forging deep connections and friendships with my fellow RHA graduates. As a member of SheSays Dubai, I was thrilled to learn that 80% of the academy members were women! That is a true testament to the brilliance of women in this industry, and I am ecstatic to be a part of it.
I want to thank my Professor, Ms. Dina Faour, who has been the driving force behind all this. Thank you, Miss Dina, for believing in me even when I had my own doubts. I thank my university, AUD, for giving me the academic knowledge and the professional exposure that I need to start my career. Finally, I thank the Motivate Val Morgan team, especially Ms. Dumi, for her professional guidance and support during the whole RHA experience.
The Roger Hatchuel Academy has left a special mark on my heart, and I am eager to use the invaluable insights I have gained to contribute to the dynamic advertising industry in the UAE.”
