The Department of Architecture is holding academic-industrial alliance workshops about lightweight architecture in collaboration with the world-leading architectural glass company AGC. These workshops aim to make students understand the concept of lightweight architecture, highlighting one of AGC’s primary sustainable materials, ETFE. The ETFE specialist will elaborate on conceptual design, structural approach, system fabrication, and project deployment for lightweight architecture. AGC will provide an official certificate to students who attend in full. Furthermore, an open design competition will follow the workshops to propose an indoor farming place using ETFE. An award ceremony is scheduled for May 3rd in EMBA Building, with external professional guest judges.
Today was the first workshop. Over 50 AUD architectural students joined with an active Q&A session at the end.
