Positive Psychology Demystified
No smiles required…
You have heard about positive psychology, but you might be like many people and think it is nothing more than peace, love, and group hugs. Not even close! It is a science and branch of psychology like all the rest. The only difference is that instead of studying doom and gloom, we focus on the other half of human experience that preoccupies us just as much: the presence of happiness. In this session, learn about aspects of positive psychology such as subjective wellbeing, life satisfaction, positive emotions, and a few other principles we have gathered along the way. You might be interested in how the field has developed over the years, where it is going, what criticism it has garnered, and the other areas it has become part of, including education, health, and organizations. Phew! And if there are a few minutes left, we will even have you do a quick positive psychology intervention to boost your happiness for the day.
