The American University in Dubai, Interior Design Department, and MillerKnoll presented the AUD Interior Design Senior Winners of the AUD Interior Design Senior Showcase 2024. MillerKnoll, an AUD Interior Design Department Advisory Board Member and long-time partner with the ID Department, organized an event with the industry, the press, AUD Interior Design students, and alumni to celebrate the winners of the AUD Interior Design Senior Showcase 2024.
The senior interior design projects are a testament to the remarkable talent and dedication of the AUD Interior Design students. Each project demonstrated high creativity, technical skill, and innovative/critical thinking.
The showcase was a captivating display of the students' ability to merge theoretical knowledge and practical application, resulting in well-structured, creative, and highly functional projects that are extremely relevant to contemporary design challenges.

Project Title: Center for the Future by Thasneem Abuthahir
Concept: Thasneem’s Senior Showcase project, Center for the Future, focuses on creating a space that prepares the community for the future, aligning with the vision of the UAE and its leaders.
Since 1950, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been one of the fastest emerging technologies in the world. As AI and Robotics continue to evolve, understanding them is essential for the UAE to prepare its community for a future where these technologies will have a significant impact. This thesis project proposes the establishment of a robotics center to foster innovation, curiosity, and the sharing of critical knowledge, while aligning with the UAE government's goals in these fields. The center will empower individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to harness AI and robotics, ensuring that people maintain control over these technologies rather than becoming subject to them.
Driven by the UAE's commitment to fostering innovation, the center will serve as a catalyst for empowering the community to embrace and harness the transformative potential of AI and robotics. Through immersive learning experiences, hands-on workshops, and collaborative projects, the center will offer a dynamic environment where curiosity thrives, creativity flourishes, and boundaries are pushed. Central to the center's mission is its focus on inclusivity and diversity, ensuring equal access to learning opportunities for individuals from all backgrounds. By cultivating a culture of openness, collaboration, and respect, the center will not only enrich participants' lives but also contribute to building a more inclusive and equitable society.
