On September 20, 2024, the Mathematics Education Research Group held its first meeting at the American University in Dubai (AUD). The event brought together participants from prominent institutions across the UAE, including Emirates College for Advanced Education in Abu Dhabi, UAE University in Al Ain, Al Ain University, and the Sharjah Education Academy. AUD was represented by several faculty members from the Mathematics Division, along with others from across AUD’s schools.

School of Arts and Sciences Dean, Dr. Micah Robbins, welcomed the group with an opening address, emphasizing the significance of collaborative initiatives for AUD and the broader academic community. The meeting focused on fostering collaboration among Mathematics Education researchers in the UAE, exploring opportunities for joint research projects, and discussing potential grant proposals.

This gathering marks the beginning of strengthened partnerships and future cooperative efforts in Mathematics Education research across the region.
