In celebration of World Habitat Day, on Monday, October 7, 2024, the American University in Dubai (AUD), in collaboration with the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program (SZHP), announced the top three winners of the SZHP Housing Design Competition. The competition tasked architecture students with designing innovative housing projects that emphasized cultural relevance, affordability, and creativity.

The award ceremony was held at AUD’s campus, with H.E. Mohammed Al Mansouri, Director General of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program, honoring the winners, in the presence of Dr. Kyle Long, President of the American University in Dubai, Dr. Sabrina Joseph, Provost and Chief Academic Officer at the American University in Dubai, and Dr. Nabyl Chenaf, Dean of the School of Architecture, Art and Design.

The event underscored the significance of sustainable and accessible housing solutions in the UAE, and the role that emerging talent plays in shaping the future of urban development.
