Hosted by Dubai Culture at the Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood, the SIKKA ART & DESIGN FESTIVAL 2022 exhibited the works of students of the “DDFT 473 – Virtual Environments” course, showcasing the power of immersive technology and its impact on education, in addition to Dr. Georges Kachaamy’s journey of an artistic project from the physical to the virtual that uses immersive technologies as tools to augment his ongoing art project “Unconscious.”

During the exhibition, the AUD students presented their work to HH Sheikha Latifa Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority and member of the Dubai Council. Dr. Kachaamy said, "It was an absolute honor to be in the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority and member of the Dubai Council where I talked about my artwork Unconscious and introduced her to the Center for Research, Innovation, & Design (CRID) at AUD and I was able to showcase the students’ work that was done inside of Virtual Reality as part of DDFT 473 - Virtual Environments course. It was music my ears when H.H said and ‘I am glad that AUD has this technology’.”
