Four AUD students were selected to attend Al Maktoum College’s Summer School Program 2019 (June 8 - July 5) in Dundee, Scotland. The four are Dalia Qasem, Sara El Khoreiby, Dana Ismail and Zeena Qadumi. The selection was made using specific criteria that are set by the College and that include high academic performance as well as maturity and other personal attributes. The program consists of academic components but also includes a wide variety of non-classroom activities and visits to sites of cultural and historical interest in Scotland. The program culminates with presentations of group projects on assigned topics related to the similarities and differences between Arab and Western cultures, social norms, customs, traditions, and political systems. This year, students spent the last five days of the program in Dublin, Ireland where they were hosted by Trinity College.
Upon completion of the program, students received certificates from Al Maktoum College at a special ceremony held in St. Andrews at the historic Golf Course. Dr. Jihad Nader, Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Development, met with the students and attended the closing ceremony. Also in attendance was H.E.
