The American University in Dubai students are once again leaving their mark in the world of innovation!
A talented team of MBA and undergraduate students recently competed in the prestigious L'Oréal Brandstorm Competition, a global challenge that pushes students to develop creative solutions for the future of beauty.
This year marks another successful participation for AUD in this longstanding partnership with L'Oréal. The competition serves as a valuable platform for our students to showcase their talents and gain industry exposure, aligning perfectly with AUD's commitment to outreach and career development initiatives.
The AUD team, comprised of Assel Mukhit (MBA), Solomiia Matsala (MBA), and Nuraly Nurtayev (Undergraduate, Engineering), rose to the challenge of this year's theme: "Reinvent the Future of Professional Beauty through Tech." Their innovative concept, HairMet, tackled the issue of hair loss, showcasing the potential of technology to revolutionize the beauty industry.
Their hard work and ingenuity paid off! The AUD team made it to the top 10 teams in the region, an impressive feat considering they were up against a strong field of 120 teams from various universities across the GCC. The team represented AUD with pride at the semi-final event held at the TikTok Lounge, presenting their HairMet idea to a panel of industry experts.
The students were expertly mentored and guided throughout the competition by Dr. Farah Arkadan, Chair of the Department of Management and Marketing, Assistant Professor of Marketing, & Accreditation Lead at AUD. Dr. Arkadan's experience and insights undoubtedly played a significant role in the team's success.
The L'Oréal Brandstorm Competition is a testament to the university's focus on experiential learning and providing students with opportunities to apply their knowledge to real-world challenges, while simultaneously building valuable connections within the beauty industry.
Congratulations to the AUD team! We look forward to seeing our talents’ future endeavors in the ever-evolving beauty industry.
