More than 1,000 students from 150 universities took part in the global competition

Nov 03, 2021

Studio Dar, the project that won first place in the ‘Reinventing Cities’ competition, consisted of a team of three AUD students; Elham Al Dweik, Dheyaa Dheyaa and Nadine Ammar and advised by Professor Abdellatif Qamhaieh.

More than 1,000 students from 150 universities took part in the global competition organized by C40 in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Executive Council.

Studio Dar’s vision is that of a green and thriving neighbourhood, one that is truly diverse and inclusive; a reflection of the spirit of Dubai being a melting pot of cultures and ethnicities. It is a neighbourhood that is not dependent on cars and everything is of a walkable distance and safe with sustainable transportation options. ‘La Karama’ aims to apply these concepts using a bottom-up approach that first and foremost caters to the users of the area and invites others to visit it.
