November 23, 2022, was an exciting day for the AUD community as it had the opportunity to welcome Mr. Peter Gray and Mr. Mohammed Al Dahbashi to campus for an afternoon talk about Business Law and Ethics in the UAE.
This was the fourth opportunity for AUD students to hear from these legal managing partners from ADG, a firm that prides itself on “delivering expert legal advice in the Middle East and Africa.” Mr. Gray and Mr. Al Dahbashi spent over an hour talking to students about the current legal landscape in the UAE business world and how it has been impacted by high profile issues of ethics and legal malfeasance in the last couple of years. Highlights of the talk included the reinforcing of principles of corporate governance, fraud investigations and what steps students should take to ensure successful entrance into the business and legal fields.
The senior partners were also impressed with many of the students’ questions during the event as the queries showed a keen interest in the subject matter and an understanding of current and ongoing white-collar criminal conduct. AUD looks forward to a return visit from ADG in the future as ADG has promised to continue to bring their dedication to integrity and professionalism to the academic world as well as help the next generation of leaders reach their full potential. A full review of ADG's impressive presence in the region can be found on their website: https://adglegal.com/ and preliminary talks for a return of ADG to AUD's campus after January 2023 are already in progress.
