Celebrated School of Arts and Sciences' Faculty discuss their journeys towards publishing their scholarly books

The School of Arts and Sciences Research Committee hosted a lively and interactive panel discussion titled "From Inspiration to Marketplace: Scholars' Journeys in Book Publishing" which showcased the creative talents of the School's faculty and their inspiring journeys towards publishing their books. The panel was moderated by Dr. Meis Moukayed, Professor of Health and Life Sciences and Chair of the SOAS Research Committee, and featured panelists, Dr. Matthew Ingalls, Chair of the Department of International and Middle Eastern Studies and Associate Professor of Middle Eastern Studies, Dr. Asmaa Mansour, Assistant Professor of English, Dr. Kanwal Syed, Assistant Professor of Art History, and Dr. Rima Cheaytou, Assistant Professor of Mathematics. The scholars engaged in a lively dialogue revolving around the considerations, practices, and processes involved in developing their books such as proposal submissions, the editing process, peer review, copyright matters, and marketing the works to a wide readership for greater impact.
