Dr. Naila Sahar, Assistant Professor of English, was invited as a Visiting Professor at Lund University’s Gender Studies Department for two weeks. Lund University was founded in 1666 and is ranked among the top 100 universities in the world. During her stay, Dr. Sahar taught a PhD Seminar on ‘Moorat March Construction of Alternatives in the Era of Extremism' at Lund University and gave an invited talk, 'Gendered Resistance Movements in Pakistan' at the Department of Gender Studies, University of Gothenburg. This trip was made possible because of a generous grant from the Research Cluster 'TechnAct'. This Research cluster has pioneered an interdisciplinary and comparative approach, combining digital research methods and multi-sited ethnography to produce new knowledge of the impact of digital technologies on civil society engagement. Dr. Sahar has been part of the TechnAct research cluster since 2019 and has produced two peer-reviewed research articles 'Muslim Women’s Activism in the USA: Politics of Diverse Resistance Strategies' and 'Postcolonial Feminism: Women's Digital Activism and Its Challenges in South Asia with a Focus on Pakistan' in collaboration with this research cluster.
