A tribute to the AUD EMBA buildings’ refreshing architecture

Jan 14, 2021

The AUD Executive Masters of Business Administration building was featured in the latest issue of Compasses Architecture & Interior Design magazine. Written by Dr. Anna Cornaro, Chair & Associate Professor of Architecture, the article explains the buildings’ unique ability to balance minimalistic, spatial and modern architecture.

“Writing an article about EMBA building for the prestigious international architecture magazine Compasses was a pleasure. The new project is a beautiful insertion in AUD campus linking together the glorious past and the bright future of this university.”
Dr. Anna Cornaro, Chair & Associate Professor of Architecture

The EMBA building is designed by our very own Dr. Georges Kachaamy, Director of the Center for Research, Innovation and Design (CRID) at the School of Architecture, Art and Design (SAAD). The building expresses the vision of Mr. Elias Bou Saab, the Executive Vice President, for the creation of a facility that would accommodate the Executive MBA program whilst considering the context of the existing buildings on AUD campus and the hot humid climate of Dubai.

"When AUD VP MP Elias Bou Saab called me in his office to express his vision for the creation of a new facility that would accommodate the Executive MBA program, I felt the privilege, trust, and the responsibility to accomplish such a significant task. Following several iterative processes, the building has reached the level that any architect would be proud of.

Of course, it goes without saying, that this job was a massive collaboration between WASL Team and AUD Central Services Team that is directed by Mr. Elie Sawaya. I am both grateful and honored to have been part of this collaboration which has produced this landmark on AUD campus.
