AUD’s Dr. Sellos chosen as member of the Dubai Future Council for Media.

Dr. Pedro Sigaud Sellos, one of the thirteen council members of Dubai Future Council for Media, attended the inaugural meeting of the foundation on April 24th, 2019 at Emirates Towers.

The meeting, which included several high level media executives in Dubai, from the government, semi-governmental and private sectors.

Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Director General of the Dubai Government Media Office and Dubai Media Council President, officiated the inaugural meeting with an ambitious vision to establish Dubai as the media capital of the region and enhance its position as a leading media center.

Throughout the event, the overall strategy and objectives of the council were outlined, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.  The directive was aimed at finding effective solutions to various challenges and launching initiatives and strategies to achieve leadership in various fields, including the media sector.

Mona Al Marri noted that the Dubai Future Council of Media's focus will be to provide innovative ideas that contribute to the development of the media sector in the Emirates, measured through increased achievements in this field. These achievements are gauged through the development of specialized training in media that will attract young Emirati talent into the sector and through the development and employment of new technologies into the media sector. Through media platforms, driven by a uniform message, the council aims to promote a positive community, unilaterally aimed at building the future.

Lastly, the meeting discussed ways to achieve the council’s objective through strategic initiatives that will elevate Dubai’s competitiveness to international standards and practices while catering to local needs. These initiatives will be supplemented by the council members extensive network of media contacts, both locally and globally, to enrich the council's work with innovative ideas, inspired by success stories and best practices.
