AUD Associate Professor of Interior Design, Chadi El Tabbah will be presenting his furniture collection “Geometrico” at the Fioresalone during Milan Design Week 2022 in collaboration with Made a Mano. “Between Space and Time” is the theme of the 2022 edition of Fioresalone, space and time are two dimensions at the heart of the debate and international agendas that today determine the frame of reference for the design culture defining its context of action.
“Geometrico” is a furniture and product collection inspired by three distinguished geometric patterns from Cappella Palatina in Palermo, the Great Mosque of Cordoba, and Al Fahidi historical district in Dubai. This is an invitation to embrace the patterns of repetition that govern each day of our life, and the sacred habits that they give deliberate structure to our world.
Made a Mano has manufactured this collection using the technique of mask on lava stones from Mount Etna in Sicily. Lava stone is an extremely sturdy and hard-wearing material, suited for both indoor and outdoor use. Roasario Parrinello, founder, CEO, and art director, in 2001 created Made a Mano (www.madeamano.it), a company that is distinct and specialized in working and processing the clay and lava stones. The company was founded in Caltagirone, Sicily and is located approximately 60km from the Etna volcano; a unique and exclusive source of all products made of Etna stone.
“Geometrico” will be displayed at BINOVA showroom in Italy from the 6th to 12th of June, 2022 (www.binovamilano.com). The collection can also be found at The Workshop Dubai, the exclusive agent of “Geometrico” collection in the UAE (www.theworkshopdubai.com).
