Three AUD Psychology students — Shea Fonseca, Lynn Jurdak, and Samira Abou Zaki — proudly represented the B.A. in Psychology at the Middle East and North Africa Trauma Association's inaugural conference held on November 15–16. They each presented academic research posters focusing on trauma-related topics, which stemmed from research proposals developed during one of their academic courses. The conference offered a deeply immersive experience, bringing together experts, practitioners, and advocates to explore trauma transmission mechanisms and to foster discussions on healing and resilience.
The AUD students competed with peers from other universities in Dubai, showcasing their research, knowledge and perspectives in the field of Trauma. Samira Abou Zaki distinguished herself by winning the best poster presentation prize and securing a prestigious two-month internship at the Psychiatry and Therapy Centre.
This accomplishment highlights students' commitment to academic excellence and professional growth. They thoroughly enjoyed the conference, gaining valuable insights, networking opportunities, and practical knowledge. This remarkable success not only reflects the strength of AUD’s Psychology program but also underscores the potential of its students to make meaningful contributions to the field of mental health.
