On April 9^th, 2019 the American University in Dubai welcomed the United States Consul General, Mr. Philip Frayne, and representatives from the consulate.

The visit begun with a campus tour led by the leadership team, Dr. Jihad Nader, Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Development, and Mr. Raj Kapoor, Director of Recruitment and Assistant Dean of the School of Business Administration.

After the tour, the consulate representatives were invited to a ‘Meet and Greet’ session in the Faculty Lounge where they met with Dr. Imad Hoballah, Provost and Chief Academic Officer, and representing faculty from the six schools. Each discussed the several initiatives inaugurated on an institutional and academic level, including the launch of the Innovation Center and the Executive Master of Business Administration as well as the latest research topics across the six schools.

Following this immersive session, the Consul General met with some of the university students, including AUD’s Clinton Scholars, who shared their experiences at the American University in Dubai, their experiences in the region, and what drove their interest to attend AUD.

Finally, the Consul General was honored with a plaque at the Admin Rotunda for facilitating discourse between the two organizations.
