Dr. Qamhaieh joined AUD’s Architecture Program in September 2018. Before joining AUD, he was the chair of the Urban Planning Program at Alhosn University in Abu Dhabi since 2010. While in the US, he was a post-doctoral associate at the University of Florida and a fellow at the Shimberg Center for Housing Studies. His teaching covers several architecture and urbanism areas, including design studios, theory, urban policy, and technology.

Dr. Qamhaieh’s research examines urbanism within the gulf region. He writes on mobility, urban design, housing, and crime prevention planning and is the author of several journal articles and book chapters.

Professionally, he practiced architecture and urban planning in the US, Jordan, and Palestine. He is a member of ACSA, ISOCARP, Palestinian Society of Engineers, and the Emirates Planning Association.

Dr. Qamhaieh is also an avid runner and regularly participates in running events in the UAE and beyond.
