Mattia Gambardella is an architect and researcher who graduated from the Polytechnic of Milan. He studied and worked in Italy, Norway (NTNU), and France before completing his MA program at the Architectural Association in London. He taught at the London Metropolitan University, tutored at the UCL Bartlett School of Architecture, was Master Unit Lead at University of Kent, and now serves as an Assistant Professor at The American University in Dubai.

During the last 20 years, he additionally gained professional experience working in international firms such as Zaha Hadid Architects, Kpf, and Martha Schwartz among others.

He appeared as a guest critic at the Architectural Association of London, the University of Westminster, and the University of East London. His work on Generative Design and Responsive Architecture was presented in Canada (Subtle Technologies Festival), Barcelona, and has been awarded a Design Award at the latest Feidad edition in Taiwan.

His research interest lies in the convergence between social science, art, and digital design.
