Dr. Rima Assaf joined AUD in Fall 2022 as an Assistant Professor of Finance in the School of Business Administration. She has 15 years of experience in the banking sector in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Lebanon. She started her career in 2006 with BLOM Bank s.a.l. in Lebanon and became an associate in the bank’s elite program of managers. In 2013, she moved to Dubai and continued her career as a Corporate Credit Relationship Manager with Invest Bank, becoming a certified escrow agent to manage developers’ escrow accounts in project financing. Her track record includes managing portfolios in project and contracting financing, with syndication deals exceeding USD 500 million.

In 2021, Dr. Assaf shifted to academia and taught various graduate finance courses. Her main research interests are Financial Development, Behavioral Finance, FinTech, ESG, and Renewable Energy. She has presented her co-authored work at international conferences such as the Academy of Sustainable Finance, Accounting, Accountability & Governance (2022) and peer-reviewed papers in reputable academic journals.

In addition to teaching and research, Dr. Assaf is a business consultant specializing in construction contracting and manufacturing corporations in the U.A.E.
