Visual Communication student, Marya Al Halabi presented her research at the 2nd International Conference on Advancing Sustainable Futures (ICASF 2024) in Abu Dhabi on the 11 and 12 December 2024. The paper, which began as part of her Senior Project research with support from Dr. Jurhi Selamet, Assistant Professor of Graphic Design, is titled 'Fill a Bowl: A Participatory Design Approach for Creating Feeding Stations for Stray Cats in the UAE for a Sustainable, Animal-Friendly Urban Environment.'

Her study explores a digital creativity perspective to address the challenge of free-roaming cats (FRCs) in urban settings, proposing a digital media product to improve animal welfare—an approach underexplored in FRC research.
