Olga Nassar Saad is a dedicated mathematics educator with more than 12 years of experience in teaching at the university level and 10 years at the high school level. Throughout her career, she has developed a passion for making mathematical skills accessible to students from all levels and with different learning styles. Her understanding of students’ individual differences allows her to include students of determination smoothly in the classroom and to encourage all students to perform to their highest potential.
Ms. Saad earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics education from the Lebanese American University (LAU), where she graduated with distinction in 2000. While pursuing her degree, she worked as a research assistant and peer tutor. During this time, she realized that her true calling was to ignite a passion for learning mathematics in students. Therefore, she decided to pursue a career in mathematics education and re-enrolled at LAU to earn a teaching diploma in 2001.
After completing her master’s degree in mathematics education, she joined the American University in Dubai as an adjunct instructor in 2011. She is currently pursuing a PhD in mathematics education to further develop her teaching skills and stay up to date with the latest research findings.
Throughout her Ph.D. journey, Ms. Saad has undertaken research assignments in various areas of mathematics education including research on teaching mathematics for students of determination using computer algebra systems and the effect of developmental mathematics courses on students’ success in attaining non-STEM degrees.
Beyond her career, Ms. Saad firmly believes that family is the bedrock of a person’s life, so she spends her time with her family to nurture her children’s sense of belonging and to promote their personal growth and well-being.
