Jörg, better known around campus as simply “Maak” joined the American University in Dubai as Logistics Supervisor in November 2006. He supervises the cleaning staff and the custodians; he is in direct contact with all suppliers on a daily basis, and assists with all building projects.
 
Maak is quite versatile in his professional experience. Originally trained as a butcher, he worked for the German Federal Armed Forces in charge of logistics for a year before working in the catering business for several years. Maak also has extensive event management knowledge, which he duly applies at AUD when assisting in the organization of different events and conferences. Prior to joining AUD, Maak was working at the Testa Rossa Cafe as the Operation Manager responsible for managing and train staff, new store openings, and creating and improvising new menus.
 
He fluently speaks English and German. He is married with a daughter, and likes to spend his spare time reading and working on home projects.
